At random: The USS Blenny SS 324, on her last patrol of WW II sank 63 vessels. One by torpedo and 62 by deck gunfire, demolition charges set by boarding parties or by burning. On several occasions shotguns were fired through the boats bottoms. These were all vessels under the 500 ton JANAC limit for tonnage sunk and not counted in the "official" totals or ships sunk. This is also a record for the most vessels ever sunk by a submarine on one patrol.

George V was the king of England during WWI.  He had a bad stutter.

During a ceremony when he was awarding medals, he mentioned that a pilot had shot down "two J-J-J-Junkers and one F-F-F-Focker".

Instead of keeping his mouth shut, the pilot said he shot down two Junkers and two Fockers.

The King replied:  "W-W-Well, you still only get one f-f-f-f**king medal".

At the Marine Corps Museum there is a MOH plaque listing awardees and the date of award.

Robert M Hanson and Gregory Boyington are listed with two dates each.

I believe Pappy (Gregory) Boyington was awarded the medal posthumously when shot down, medal presented to his wife (1944). When repatriated (with Richard O'Kane) he was personally presented the Medal by President Truman. I believe there was one award presented twice (I could be wrong).

Robert Hanson (a flier in Pappy Boyington's squadron) is listed 1NOV43 and 21Jan44. I find references to the awards but I can't decide if it was for two separate actions or not.

Bunch of facts, not answer to the question ask.

In my prior post I noted I failed to capitalize Medal once in the third paragraph. I am most sorry. For this award I feel it should always be capitalized.
