HALL, Dennis Stanford, 63, passed away in his Sacramento home on November 2, 2008, after a long illness. Dennis was born on May 29, 1945 in Oakland, CA, He is survived by his wife Mary Beth and his children Darcey Martell, Karen Hall-Sandlund and Meghan Hall, and his sister Linda Barbieri. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christian, Trevor, Anna, Jeffrey Dennis, Grace, and another on the way. Graduated from Woodside High School in Redwood City, he served honorably in the United States Submarine Service aboard the USS Trutta (SS-421) from 1965-1971. Dennis worked for Southern Pacific/ Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years. He will be remembered for being a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend; for his love of painting, drawing, and crafts; for his amazing cooking skills; his passion for politics; his love of golf; and his sage, often humorous, advice. As Dad would say, "The thing of it is" Memorial Services will be held at the Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2008. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the VA Northern California Health Care System.
