At random: In a fraction of a second they are projected into eternity and will never possess a final resting home. They have graves without bodies, they are an exceptional breed of people....It is of utmost pride to me to have met these men, those lords that I salute, praise and admire. - Winston Churchill on Clearance Divers September 1944

Subject: A 'Bucket List'.....

...Steamboat in a post to me said something along the lines of me having lots of adventures, true.

That got me to thinking of the movie 'The Bucket List' and what they got up to.

I'm hoping that everyone here has quite a few years to go yet in them, but, what do you want to see/do before you go on Leave for the last time?

As I have only just thought about it, this is my list without too much planning....

1. See the Grand Canyon - and walk on that lookout!
2. Visit Las Vegas and gamble a $100
3. Visit Xian and see the Terracotta Soldiers
4. Go on a Cruise - anywhere will do.
5. Hot Air Balloon - anywhere will do.
6. Visit Red Square.
7. See a Polar Bear in the wild.

Hummmm....I too been thinking about a bucket list. Don't know if i will ever get to do all the following, since nobody in my family has lived past 69 and I am 65, but be that as it may, here is my Bucket list:
1. Horseback trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area, Montana
2. ride Confederate Cavalry thru all of the 150th year battle events (2011 to 2015)
3. purchase, and train a harness horse and ride with wife on a "Surry with a fringe on top" to church.
4. Visit Ireland, Scotland, New Zeland and Austrailia.
5. To see my wife relieved of her pain from bad knee.
6. To see my son established in a career he likes.
7. To hold a Granbabby in my arms.
8. Once again climb Mt Hood (or any of the Cascades) with my brother.
9. Loose 50# excess baggage.
10. To find a long lost brother and know he is well.
Well that is my list, how about yours???? Come on now, lets keep this going!!!!

Man, this isn't as easy as it appears. The Country Song " Too old to die young" comes to mind. My list is rather short, but, I'm sure it will grow after some serious thought.
1. See my Son get a firm grip on life
2. Be able to attend my Grand kids graduations
3. Fly to the moon and back with my Grandson Shane. He's 4 years old now and he has promised to take me to the moon when he flies his rocket. More than likely I'll be in a ziplock bag but I'll be there in spirit, with out a doubt.
4. See my daughter remarry to someone who truly loves her.
5. Visit Ireland
6. Go back to Oz for an extended visit and travel all over the place by land. You miss a lot by air.
7. Get shot by a jealous husband.

Don't worry about the husband, it'll be your wife, that will shoot you!

Especially after I call her at work and tell her what you wrote!

I knew you would chime in there with that. I started to add that myself but had a feeling someone(you) would run with the bait.. Very dangerous--you and I think alike.

Bucket List

1. Ride Harley Davidson Motorcycle to West Coast
2. Plow/harvest a field of corn or beans
3. Drive a semi-tractor trailer rig
4. Build and sail a sailboat
5. Travel to Europe
6. Travel to Australia (drink Blue's Beer)
7. Fly in a jet fighter
8. Fly an airplane
9. Qualify in Submarines
10. Learn to play bagpipes
11. Keep adding to the list
12. See my grandson graduate from college (he's 14 so I just might make it)
13. Walk my daughter down the aisle and know she will be happily married like her mum and me.

Numbers 1,4,5,8 & 9 have been accomplished; #10 is a lifelong experience that may never be mastered
looks like it's time to work on #11
Caveat: these are NOT in the order of importance
