Well it's Tuesday and finally the smoke from the fires in Orange County have been pushed back by a nice on-shore breeze. I live in L.A. County near the city of Torrance. For the last three days the smoke and ash from the fires have been blowing in the air. There have been some amazing stoies. One is of an old teddy bear that a man had been given by his mother. She had been given the bear as a child and the bear had survived the London blitz of WWII. The bear survived the fire even though the house did not. It is so sad to see all the homes that have been lost and to know that getting a loan to rebuild is going to be next to impossible right now. One man interviewed reported he had cancelled his home insurance so he could have more money available for bills. My heart and prayers go out to all those who have suffered such loss.
As of this morning the firefighters are gaining the advantage. The Orange County fire is believed to have started with a single tree igniting from possibly a cigarette thrown from a car or a spark from a catalytic converter. The source of the fire that in L.A. County has nto been deturmined.
