FRIDGE, Jr., Theodore R. “Ted”, "It was beautiful as long as it lasted, the journey of my life … shed no tears for I need them not. All I need is your smile. If you feel sad, think of me for that is what I'll like. When you live in the hearts of those you love remember then, you never die" Tagore. Having been a true example of how to genuinely live each day to its fullest, Theodore R. "Ted" Fridge Jr., left this world on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. Ted was born in Baton Rouge, and was 72 years old. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended LSU. During his life Ted obtained success in several professions, but during his later years enjoyed self-employment in the insurance industry. Ted proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed upon a Skate-class attack submarine. He is survived by his lifelong companion and loving wife, Fleeta Thornhill Fridge; two sisters, Gloria Gonzales and Myrtle Verbois; and many nieces and nephews to whom he was known as "Uncle Ted" more so than any other name. Preceded in death by his father, Ted Fridge Sr.; mother, Lessie Fridge; and sister, Werdna F. Hall. Whether it was mastering a love for water-skiing as a young man, motorcycle riding, traveling with his wife, building his own home from the ground up or adding another project to his list. Ted never let any personal desire or ambition go unaccomplished. He was a former member of a local Shriner's chapter and an active member in Cajun Clickers computer club. Ted was a huge Tiger fan and one of his greatest loves was attending LSU football games throughout his life. Every fall you would find him no where else but Tiger Stadium … first with his father, then best friend, and lastly with his nephews. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation be made to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
