FEZEKAS, Augustine "Gus", 86 of Aurora, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at the LaSalle Veterans Hone, LaSalle, IL. He was born June, 4, 1922 in Aurora. Gus was a US Navy veteran of WWII having joined in 1940. He served in the Submarine Service on several Submarines including the USS JACK (SS-259) which saw combat in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters for which he was awarded several medals, including the Submarine Combat Pin with three gold stars. After returning from the service he worked in the bar and restaurant business in Aurora for many years. He was a life member of the Montgomery VFW Post 7452. Survivors include his two sisters, Mary Saltzman of Florida and Florence Negre of Aurora; his brother, Nicholas (Shirley) Fezekas of Aurora; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane in 1967; his parents, John and Mary Fezekas; ten brothers and a sister. Gus's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses at the Veterans Homes in Quincy and LaSalle, IL, and to St. Margaret Hospice Center in Spring Valley, IL. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28 2008 at 12:00 Noon at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY Fr. Aurel Pater will officiate with interment at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2008 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500. www.daleidenmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michaels Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church in Aurora, IL, the Montgomery VFW Post 7452, and the Waidley VFW Post 468 in Aurora or to the charity of the donor's choice.

STEWART,George, 88, died October 15, 2008. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y. and moved to Florida in the early 1980s, coming from Bronxville, N.Y. He served in the Navy from Jan. 29, 1942, to Sept. 16, 1945. He was assigned submarine service during the Pacific Theater in Pearl Harbor, San Diego, Calif., and New London, Conn. During his service he completed Metal Workers School. Before retirement, he owned Stewart Plumbing in Yonkers for many years. He was an active member of the American Legion before his retirement. He was a member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Stewart. SERVICES: Services were last month. Arrangements were by Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
