At random: A typical modern submarine may require as many as 2,000 working drawings for the more than 7,000,000 items used in its construction. Blueprints from these drawings if placed end to end would make a strip 250 miles long.

I don't remember the 'subject' of the post that had Jack Webb(?) and Johnny Carson doing a skit, but at least a couple of you mentioned another movie (?) that Jack Webb (?) was in called "The DI."

Is my info correct so far? Do I have the correct actor and the correct name of the movie? If so, can anyone tell me approximately when this movie was made? I'm going to see if I can find it in one of our video rental stores. I guess there really aren't any video rental places anymore; they have converted to DVD stores.

The movie "The D.I." was made in 1957.

The movie is also interesting because Webb used many of the Marines in it that were at Paris Island.  Here's the link to buy the movie.  At $9.99 I wound up buying two plus two other old movies I found here under $10.  They've got great pricing but limited selection.

Cora....
the subject of that discussion with Jack Webb and Johnny Carson was "theft in a clock shop business", or sumpin of that nature. I remember something about missing clock clappers. My memory went out the GDU a long time ago......
