At random: Fleet Admiral Halsey in a book called "The Admirals" when asked "What is the ultimate strategic weapon that is bringing the enemy to its knees? Halsey's reply "If I had to give credit to the instruments and machines that won us the war in the Pacific, I would rank them in this order: SUBMARINES, FIRST; RADAR, SECOND; PLANES, THIRD AND BULLDOZERS FOURTH."

================================================

On 28 October 1937 JoAnn stepped on the stage of life in Everett Washington. She had a wonderful run of success, loved by all and especially her family. She had her final curtain call at 0007, 6 January 2009 in Puyallup Washington. She left the stage with our lord and savior. We are all better for having known her and especially me who was blessed to spend most of my adult life with her.

Today I was trying to find an appropriate verse in my prayer book when I came across a couple of slips of paper JoAnn had placed there. The first. "Pray with me, "Loving god you promise to be with us and care for us deeply. When we are afraid, help us to turn to you for comfort, guidance and peace. Give us confidence and strength for living as we live by faith. In Jesus name we pray. Amen." The second. "Pray to God in the storm -- but keep on rowing!"

God bless you all

There will be a memorial service on Sunday January 11 at 1500.
