Subject: Leroy "Bull" Causey EMC(SS) goes on eternal patrol

Leroy Causey Died today.
Jan. 11, 2009
=================================

I received this note when I returned fro a trip this morning.

Leroy "Bull" Causey was my leading PO as an EM1(SS) aboard the Tirante 1963-66. He put on his Chiefs hat when we returned from the MED in early 1966 then went to the Baracuda SST-3 at Key West. At the same time I swapped to the Ronquil at San Diego so lost touch with Bull until I saw him on television news one night. His son, who I gave a bag of fire crackers to in Key West one fourth of July, named Avery was an EM1(SS) aboard the Bonefish when she caught fire. They showed some of the Bonefish crew as they arrived in port wrapped in blankets and gave Averys name as he walked by. I was a little startled when I remembered that Bull had a son by that name then they put a head shot and short interview with Bull. He had not changed a bit.

He had been waiting at the pier for his son.

He had that look in his eyes that he was very happy to see his son ashore.

Hand Salute Chief Bull Causey, you have done your duty.

T.Spoon, DBF
