Great Sage of the Sea Posts: 557 | Subject: Holland Club There are 176 Life Members of USSVI that "Qualified" in 1959 that have NOT been nominated for the Holland Club. Let me encourage the Base Commander's to check your Base rosters and nominate your eligible Holland Club candidates. Also, anyone who "Qualified' in 1959 and have been a "Regular" Base member for 5 years, is also eligible.

Master and Commander Posts: 1107 Location: Tucson AZ | Subject: RE: Holland Club My advice: drop a hint to your base secretary or membership chair that you're eligible ... don't leave it to chance. Of course, you're the one who should have a feel for how proactive your particular base poobahs are. Just sayin'.

Senior Crew Posts: 113 Location: Dogpatch (Conway), Arkansas | Subject: RE: Holland Club I am a member of Razorback BaseĀ and life member of USSVI. I was looking at the Razorback site yesterday and discovered a new page listing Holland Club members. There are 68 Holland Club members listed, including to my surprise, me. Interestingly, I am the only one of the 68 that qualified on a nuclear boat. I still haven't had any offical notification. Don't I get a free pass to Disney World? Sammy

COMSUBBBS Posts: 6180 Location: Summerville, SC | Subject: RE: Holland Club From what I've heard some bases make a ceremony on becoming a member of the Holland Club and others don't do anything. I, for one, think you ought to be, at least, recognized with a pat on the back, given some atta boys and a few free beers. After all getting there was a big part of your life. Congrats, Sammy!!! Master and Commander Posts: 1814 Location: Boydton, Virginia | Subject: RE: Holland Club Sammy, Frank Crawford (Crawdad) I believe, is a member of Razorback Base. He lives in West Fork, AR. I know he is well past 50 years eligibility. Is he a HC member? (We rode the 403 boat together in early '60's). Steamboat sends PS. Belay above post. I just looked up Razorback website and saw Cradad listed as HC member. Bravo Zulu, Crawdaddy, OLD Shipmate!! Edited by steamboat 2009-01-28 7:11 AM

Don't I get a free pass to Disney World? Sammy At the least you should get a frame-able HC certificate and an HC patch for your vest. This would apply to any base! Contact your base secretary or membership chair.
