Well, at long last, I found the time to get the materials the Mike and Cheri Wilson so kindly entrusted me with published as a new sub-domain on my main site.  The new URL is http://wwii.submarinesailor.com and other than that, the site should be pretty much exactly what it was like before with some exceptions like I won't be restoring the bulletin board or store of course and some minor tweaking will be needed here and there to make things work in its new location.

Most pages have a page counter that no longer works and I don't have the time to manually edit hundreds of html pages to get rid of the little red "x" (it's basically a missing image) at each page bottom.

The site amounts to over 230 MB of WWII submarine infomation and tons of photos.  It's hard to find things sometimes - you will just have to poke around - and I hope to build a simple menu page to summarize where every different section is and links to go to them... otherwise, navigaton is a bit maze-like.

OK, it's o-dark-thirty plus one, so time to hit the rack.  Enjoy...

Great job, Don. You deserve a half a dozen 'Atta boys" for your well done work.
Now the sight won't fade over the horizon as we feared. Good onya Mate.

Nice to hear that MIDI music of "Waltzing Matilda" again.

Thanks Don. I appreciate your tireless work to promote the values of the USSVI. I was worried that this info would get lost.

Great job Don - I spent quite a long timeon it this morning - enjoyed the music but more importanlty the revieiwing of the lost boats other sites that you have provided links for -- cudos and appreciation for the hours expended for the submarine shipmates, their families and friends.

Pete,  I have a standing offer to anyone operating a sub-related website that if they can't run it anymore for whatever reason, I'll give it a place here.  Most of the data we can find elsewhere but the personal stories/comments and photographs are ALL one of a kind and it's a shame when we lose even one of them.
