Well, at long last, I found the time to get the materials the Mike and Cheri Wilson so kindly entrusted me with published as a new sub-domain on my main site. The new URL is http://wwii.submarinesailor.com and other than that, the site should be pretty much exactly what it was like before with some exceptions like I won't be restoring the bulletin board or store of course and some minor tweaking will be needed here and there to make things work in its new location. Most pages have a page counter that no longer works and I don't have the time to manually edit hundreds of html pages to get rid of the little red "x" (it's basically a missing image) at each page bottom. The site amounts to over 230 MB of WWII submarine infomation and tons of photos. It's hard to find things sometimes - you will just have to poke around - and I hope to build a simple menu page to summarize where every different section is and links to go to them... otherwise, navigaton is a bit maze-like. OK, it's o-dark-thirty plus one, so time to hit the rack. Enjoy... |

Now the sight won't fade over the horizon as we feared. Good onya Mate.

Thanks Don. I appreciate your tireless work to promote the values of the USSVI. I was worried that this info would get lost.

Pete, I have a standing offer to anyone operating a sub-related website that if they can't run it anymore for whatever reason, I'll give it a place here. Most of the data we can find elsewhere but the personal stories/comments and photographs are ALL one of a kind and it's a shame when we lose even one of them. |
