DELPERO, Armand "Joe" Joseph, 90, of Santa Clara, CA Born in Peabody, MA October 26, 1918- and passed away due to complications from a stroke on Monday, February 9, 2009. He is survived by and was a beloved husband for almost 70 years to G. Lillian Delpero, beloved father to Joan Harding and her husband Paul, his son Joseph E. Delpero and his wife Kay, beloved grandfather "Papa" to Jody Delpero Martinez and her husband Albert, and grandson Derek Delpero, as well as his sister Catherine Le Brun, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Joe lived life fully and was an active and loved member of the community who was passionate about his family, friends, and golfing. As a WWII veteran, he served his country in the South Pacific on a submarine with the US Navy. After 28 years, Joe retired from Westinghouse in Sunnyvale. He was a member of Mount Carmel Blue Lodge (Lynn, MA), a 32nd degree Mason (San Jose), and a member of the Sons in Retirement South Bay. Joe was also a devoted 53 year parishioner of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Santa Clara. He enjoyed his many years as an Ambassador for Santa Clara Golf & Tennis where also played golf frequently. Memorial service to be held in his honor: Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00am. St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1957 Pruneridge Ave., Santa Clara, CA In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mark's Church.
