I just got off the horn with DEX.

Set up a what-the-hell dinner arangement at the HARD TIMES CAFE in Old Town Alexandria for that evening.  Great chili (Texas, Cincinnati, and No Yawk style), half-price burgers on Monday, cold beer.  Five, six or sevenish...

The Hard Times is nearby the Irish pub hang-out of the Goats -- we can try to pry him off a barstool there and have some chili.

Program your GPS units (or stroke your friendly QM) and meet us there!

Ric if you want to get a fair share with Blue around you'll need to get there a day early and get stuck in cos Blue is just a high Capacity Vacuum pump and there will be nothing left.

I agree with POD..BTDT
If you can't get there ahead of time, before Blue gets there, you'll need to have two (2) forks, one in each hand. One to feed yourself with and the other to jab at Blue to keep him from your plate. BTDT too.
If Kathy is there with Blue she will try to control him, bless her heart, but, he does get rather frantic and uncontrolable once the aroma of food strikes his nostrils.

Yeah, Mr. Ralph speaks the truth.. when Blue was in Annapolis last year (they've finally rebuilt the Middleton Tavern) there was a lot of thumping.. lots of little fork holes in the table.. Blue musta been hungry..then again, Daniel was there too.

You guys forget I've fed Blue early on when he first got to the US of A. When he was a mere shadow of his present self. I'll never forget that day. I met him at the train in Seattle and the day was sunny. We hadn't walked a block from the station before it was raining cats & dogs! Took him to dinner and it was Noah's flood night. I finally turned him over to John Clear and the rain moved west to his side of the pond. By the time he hit the east coast he was well into his Rush Limbaugh body shape you saw. There must be no food in OZ and he was making up for that fact.

Ric, I know you right, Big Bubba!!!!!!!!!!!
With Blue saying Kathy won't be with him that ought to prove what we've been sayn. She has to stay home and replenish the cupboards and pantry. Study???? Yes, she has to study on how to stow all of that grub for his return.
Dog-gone if it won't be good seeing himagain though

Yep, this is DC and we want change

Change Monday evening rendezvous to Location #15 Hard Times which is across the street from Katy's Irish Pub.

We will not go to Location #1 Hard Times, which is across the street from Murphy's Irish Pub.

(by the way:  "across the street" in Springfield is NOT as simple as it sounds....GPS units have broken down in tears attempting to do that...)

Nav. Assists:

=> http://www.cdhaggard.com/S-VA1.JPG

1. Amherst only crosses OVER Old Keaee Mill Road, and
Backlick only Intersects OKMR, and does NOT cross it
Note: These two roads join up just North of Kate's and just
South of the Legion (as Backlick)

2. Hard Times is in a mall, near a K-Mart, but easiest to find
from the rear of the building, on the "Commerce Street Side"

3. Kate's is in a mall, not near a street (enter from Commerce),
near Fisher's Hardware Store

4. BW is on Commerce, just as it crosses I-95.

5. Legion's got the Coldest/Cheapest/Best Beer in town.

Curt,thanks for the map.
I can't however, seem to locate the USO or the Christian Science Reading Room.
Those were,of course,my favorite liberty spots.Guess I'll have to ask Dex.I know
that's where he hung out.I remember his stories of "Sister Thelma "at the convent.
