A photo of the Argentinian submarine ARA SANTA FE (S-21), just after being raised from the bottom of Grytviken Sound. 9 days later, the wreck was being towed to deep water when she lurched to the right, started going down by the stern, and sunk to a depth of 1167 feet (about 160 fathoms). This and other photos were sent to me by Mr. John Rich, ex-Merchant Navy, who was aboard MT SALVAGEMAN during the effort to salvage ARA SANTA FE by the British in 1985.

No... it was CATFISH.. she was decommissioned on 1 July 1971 and recommissioned as ARA SANTA FE (S-21) the same day in the Armada Republica Argentina.. |
