CARLSON, Mark W., 49, of Inverness, FL, died on April 8, 2009, at Citrus Memorial hospital in Inverness. Mark was born September 1, 1959, in Hartford, CT, the son of Judith and Frederick Carlson. Mark served as an electronic technician in the U.S. Navy aboard the nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine USS Tecumseh (SSBN-628). He moved to Inverness in 2001 from West Hartford, CT. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Inverness and a member of AA. Mark was preceded in death by his father Frederick W. Carlson, sister Kimberly A. Eggert and brother George W. Carlson. Survivors include his mother, Judith A. Stewart of Inverness; uncle Frederick Wade of Inverness; niece Lauren A. Eggert of Cincinnati, OH; nephew Robert Eggert of Columbus, OH; and AA sponsor and great friend John Tuttle. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Heinz Funeral Home in Inverness. Pastor Greg Kell will preside. Interment with military honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Building Fund, 1005 Hillside Ct., Inverness, FL 34450. Arrangements by Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.

CROSS, Arthur C., 85, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 after suffering with Alzheimer's for many years. Veteran of WW II, Royal Navy (Submariner). Loving husband of Doris (Ritchie). Dear father of Cheryl (David) and Michael. Loving grandfather of Lauren and Megan. Brother of Reg, Anne, Les and Fred. A Celebration of Art's Life will be held at Scarboro Golf & Country Club, 321 Scarborough Golf Club Rd. Cremation. The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses, caregivers and staff on the 3rd floor of Shepherd Lodge for their care, compassion and support. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Art's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society Toronto or Shepherd Village Foundation 416-609-5700. Art will be sadly missed.
