Taxes are done and all and for some reason it hit me harder than usual that this is also the day that my mother died 52 years ago. She had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage three days before while shopping on her lunch break from work. She never regained consciousness. She was only 48 years old. I have lived almost 1½ times longer than she or my father, who had died two years before at 46, did. Both would be 100 this year. Getting older is strange.

Time sure does some strange things to us and we wonder why.

Monday the 13th was the 1-year anniversary of my mother's death from cancer.
She went 5 months after my dad died from heart problems after he fell and broke his leg.

Doing her last tax return was a a real pain - took me all day to do it.

Yeah, sometimes getting older leaves much to be desired.

"Yeah, sometimes getting older leaves much to be desired."

It leaves a LOT to be desired. A curse on whoever invented old age! I just saw my internist a few days ago, and he said, "But you're still sharp. Your mind is intact." But my body doesn't do what my mind wants it to.

Cora, my wife, Sharon, seea and works with folks that don't have a sharp mind any more and it is sure heartbreaking to see them just whither away not knowing daylight from dark. Count your blessings, girl.

Have you heard anything from Cameron? I bet he's out chasing those wild women like a true Marine.
