LYNN, Dennis M., 61, of Bellingham, MA, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Boston, MA on February 12, 1948, the son of the late Daniel and Marie (Dennis) Lynn, Sr. A resident of Bellingham for 20 years and formerly of Medway and Cambridge, MA. He was a graduate of Medway High School Class of 1966 and then graduated from Dean Jr. College, Summa Cum Laude and received the Business Trustees Prize 1977, and then attended Bentley College. Dennis worked as a tax examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a torpedo man on the nuclear submarine, USS Shark (SSN-591), and a life member of the D.A.V. Lawrence Herron Post of Norwood, MA and American Legion Post 0462 of Boston, MA. Husband for 20 years of Lisa M. (Goulston) Lynn, father of Dennis M. Lynn, Jr. (Sarah), of Pittsfield, MA, Jennifer McAndrew (Paul), of Walpole, MA, Alyssa M. Lynn of Bellingham, MA; step-father of Scott Atwood (Sheila), of Monticello, NY; and seven grandchildren. Brother of Daniel Lynn, Jr. (Elizabeth), of Millis, MA, David Lynn of Quincy, MA, Maryellen Powers (James), of Blackstone, MA, and Pamela Lynn of Milford, MA. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 10:00AM at CARTIERS FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St.(Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Internment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Visiting hours are Friday from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Donations in memory of Dennis M. Lynn may be sent to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 and would be appreciated.

RODRIGUEZ, Jessie Padilla, 86, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He was born on June 22, 1922, in East Highlands, Calif. and was married to Leona Fogarty; she predeceased him in 1966. Jessie, a submariner, proudly served his country for over 20 years in the U.S. Navy; he retired in 1961. During World War II, he served in the Pacific and was a survivor in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Jessie was a lifetime member of the Montville VFW Post 10060 where he served as a Past Commander, their current Chaplin and a member of the Military order of the Cootie. He was an Avid Red Sox fan; he always spoke of his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. Jessie was very outgoing and sociable; he would always be out visiting at one of the many places he frequented to chat with his friends. Jessie is survived by his seven children, Patricia Pequinot and her husband, John of California, David Rodriguez of South Carolina, Dennis Rodriguez and his wife, Nancy of New York, Duane Rodriguez and his wife, Deborah of Stafford Springs, Lynne Skinner and her husband, Andy of Bozrah, Jessica Carlson and her husband, Norman of Old Lyme and Ann Rodriguez of Middletown; his siblings, Josie Badau, Sam Garcia, Sally Fallorina and Manuel Garcia; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his cat, Gato. He was predeceased by his brother, David Garcia and his loyal dog, Mindy. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, and at 6 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Rte. 32. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dover, N.H. Please visit the online memorial at www.mem.com.


ORR, Ellis 'Burt', CAPT, USN, Ret., 95, of La Feria, Texas, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009, at the age of 95. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1936 and served as an officer on the USS Oklahoma, USS Porpoise, USS Rasher, USS Lancetfish, USS Sea Cat and the USS Remora during his distinguished career. He also served as a commanding officer at the Charleston, S.C. Mine Warfare School before retiring from the Navy in 1961. He then moved to La Feria and taught math at the La Feria High School for a few years before embarking on his second career as a citrus farmer. Burt was involved with many aspects of citrus production on Orr Farms, and always said he enjoyed the role of a self-employed citrus farmer too much to consider a total retirement. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
