At random: John Philip Holland built several submarines before the USS Holland, which became the first undersea craft commissioned by the U.S. Navy. The Holland was purchased on April 11, 1900 for a price of $150,000. It was commissioned into the US Navy on October 12, 1900.

Kids do eventually leave home. And I'm not certain that our children should rule our lives.

Are you really serious Cora? We have a 46 yo single son living with us. Is there hope that he may grow up? Said with a smile!

Cora & Roy, these days it's not uncommon for "kids" to leave the nest and return with "extra baggage" and want room and board.

So far, Ken, we haven't had that problem. My sister has and changing the locks didn't work for her. She caved in when she saw those noses pressed up against the windows while it was raining. What can I say...she's a wimp.

Hell, Ralph do like we did; we sent them to college and then we moved. It worked. Their 550 miles away from us and have no desire to live in Michigan.

Doc, I can agree with them about Michigan. Although, a nice place to be from...far from.

Michigan.... a great example of how not to run a state! NY, CA in the running too!

Doc, ya just gotta move to TX! No income tax, and in Houston no snow, no ice, and if we secede, no o**** What a great incentive! Only other reasonable alternative is Alaska, but it suffers from worse weather than Michigan!

I'll have to agree with a "Brother Swine "on that one.

How can you criticize Michigan's weather after what you're going through with all that rain; we have beautiful weather up here;
