Myself and local subvet Ken Board represented the boat sailors in a St. Jude charity ride last Saturday.  Sponsored by local country station KMPS, this was a last minute thing and only 10 to 15 bikes were expected for this small local event but we ended up with about 45 bikes and had a great ride of about 165 miles.  I rode 30 miles to get to the starting location and many folks rode a helluva lot longer to do it.

Here's a pic from our lunch stop in Elbe where there are about five RR cars that make up a restaurant/bar.  I'm the hot young stud..... ok, so that didn't work... I'm front row, far left.  Oh yeah, that's my scooter in the far left of the photo.

A good cause while riding your hog... it doesn't get any better than that...

Snow is returning again tonight after a 75F weekend; this winter just won't end.
Our good riding won't start until after May 1st.
BZ; Don. I'm looking forward to my first group ride; got one coming up in May.

A hunnert years ago when I used to ride, we called them "Splash-guards" - to protect your britches from all the stuff the front wheel (and on-coming traffic) threw at ya.

I count 40 folks in the picture, and about a dozen appear to be of the female persuasion.

Must have been a lot of fun.

It's all about speed, guys. When you gotta go, you gotta go ... right? Well, since the leathers are worn over bluejeans, it's preferable to just have 1 set of buttons or zipper to deal with getting ready to 'water the snake'. When you get to be Don's age, by the time you got through undoing TWO pairs of trousers the first streams would be goining down your leg.
And it's no fun to have the INSIDE of your leathers all moist!

Is this the voice of experience talking, Bob? What little I know of Don is what Stoops told me and that is Don has been known to just unzip and leave it unzip for the entire ride. That's what I would do too except I don't like road rash. Know what I mean, Vern
