I read in the Proceedings magazine that is costs 37.3 million dollars to decommission an SSN.

I also read that plans to preserve the Narwhal and Drum was terminated due to lack of funding.

Ha! Obviously no-one’s been in touch with the Canadian navy! Boy! How could anyone miss that? We will buy any used boat on condition that it's worn out, over-priced and has a few hidden faults, simple things like dents in the Pressure Hull.

Give us a call, will you accept Salt-Cod in payment?

Hairy the NQP Curmudgeon. <- Yes! Even more beer!

But Hairy one must remember an "Old and Solemn" RN/RAN saying:

"It may be crap but at least it's British" I mean what the hell do you want with that cheap reliable foriegn crap when you can have days/weeks/months/years of frustrating fun trying to get that wonderful "British" stuff up and running.

A wonderful purchase the Upholder Boats, they've kept Canadian Industry in the Black for years even through these tough economic times.

In the black? Naw... not much is being spent on repairs. Even the boat's websites are being neglected. It's both sad and shameful.
