At random: The first Japanese prisoner of war captured by the Americans was Kazuo Sakamaki, an ensign in the Imperial Japanese Navy. He was captured on the morning of December 7, 1941. Sakamaki had set an explosive charge to destroy his disabled submarine, which had been trapped on Waimanalo Beach. When the explosives failed to go off, he swam to the bottom of the submarine to investigate the cause of the failure and became unconscious due to a lack of oxygen. Sakamaki was found by a Hawaiian soldier, David Akui, and was taken into military custody. When he awoke, he found himself in a hospital under American armed guard. After the war he returned to Japan and found work with the Toyota Motor Corporation before retiring in 1987. Sakamaki died on November 29, 1999, aged 81.

Anybody want one two or three Arabian horses. They are free to a good home. They are my neighbor's horses husband past away and my son and family are going to buy property but the don't have the money to even pay for the land and build the new barn and fencing the horses need.  Unfortunately the humane society is not willing to wait and with the economy they way it is normal outlets are over crowded so unless we find someone to take them in or a benefactor to come build the barn. they will have to put them down, my to the heartbreak of daugther in law and grand daughter.

I know never look a gift horse in the mouth. but ....... The catch is one is about 20 year old gelding to old to ride The second is an 8 or 10 year old stallion to wild now to ride without a tremendous amount of work (he would be best to let run the range. The third is the real keeper she is about 15 years old mare and would be a good rider with some work, she was trained both western and jumper  ALL are white/light grey and except the old gelding they are in pretty good shape and evne he isn't to bad very very old tired fellow Putting one or even two down would be okay but not all three Welcome to take one or all.

I just put a call into a friend up in Conway that may or may not have some leads. Hopefully this leads to something.

Did your neighbors find homes for the horses?

yes thank you it was actually quite amazing with 48 of last Thursday all were found homes and went to their new homes over the weekend

Two of them will actually be competing later this year or next year The mare will compete in dressage this year the stallion will be gelded and will compete in begining jumping next year at the latest And sweet old Buddy (the 20 year old gelding) gets to go spend his last years just standing around in a pasture looking cool and eating grass. We had tried for six months or more to find homes for them.
