Charles H. "Chuck" Hinze, 69, husband of Sandra (Wagner) Hinze of 42 Mountain View Dr., Norwich, passed away on June 10, 2009 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on December 23, 1939 in Bismark, North Dakota, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Martha (Baker) Hinze. Chuck was a veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service retiring in 1977. He was later employed at Northeast Utilities until his retirement in 1995. He was involved in and supported his sons activities in the Norwich Little League and Scouting programs. He was the Jack-of-all-Trades. On April 3, 1962 in Montana he was married to Sandra (Wagner) Hinze, his loving wife of 47 years who survives along with two sons, Eric Hinze of Norwich, and Brian Hinze and his wife Nan of San Francisco, CA., one grand daughter Sienna Hinze of Norwich, one brother David Hinze and his wife Dolly of Tacoma, WA., two step sisters, Marianne Moos and her husband Allen, and Jeanne Barrett both of Billings, MT., and several nieces and nephews, also the family's dog, Cody. He was predeceased by his step father Howard Waldron. Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of the donors choice.

Albert Norman Erickson, 88, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2009 in Centralia, WA. He was born October 23, 1920 in Harrison, ID.
Albert moved to Onalaska when he was three years old, living there most of his life except for close to 20 years in Eastern Lewis County and a couple of years in Thorne Bay, AK. Albert went to work in the woods in 1939 for the Long Bell Logging Company, after graduating from Onalaska High School. He worked every job in the logging industry including partnering in several gypo logging companies. Though he was always the smallest on the crew, he always got the job done, and done well. During WWII, Albert joined the Navy where he spent most of his active duty serving as a submariner with the pacific fleet. Albert will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rose, children; Anna (James) Bridges, Mark (Annette), Susan (Carey) Mossop, Ruth Erickson, Linda Goble, Diane (Bob) Elder, Kathi (Dennis) Wentworth, Ron Stowe, Randy (Janet) Stowe, Bob (Kris) Stowe, 24 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters; Eileen Bond and Norma Nelson, and his brother Sevrin Harry Erickson. He is predeceased by 1 grandchild, sisters; Kalma Hope, Olga Day, Clarice Myers, brothers; Stanley and Hjalmer. A memorial service will be held for Albert on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00am, at the Onalaska Community Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow. Donations may be made in Albert's memory to the charity of one's choice or the Onalaska Community Presbyterian Church. Please sign the guestbook at www.legacy.com/chronline.

PETERSON, Max Adair "Dare", 83, passed away at his San Diego home on June 3, 2009. Born on February 21, 1926, in Ellis, KS, to Nellie Price. He is a retired submariner and lifelong Mason. Max enjoyed golfing, RV travel, baseball, furniture refinishing and his church family. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine, in February 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Dewse (Ronald); son, Bram Peterson (Marilyn); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial Service on June 13, 2009, at University Christian Church, 3900 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, 92103, 619-295-4146. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University Christian Church, Max Peterson Memorial Fund.
