CATTLE QUEEN OF MONTANA with Barbara Stanwick?....SEA WIFE with Richard Burton?....SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS with Natalie Wood? or some weird film called RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE? My idea of hell is a place where they show any of those movies or chain you to a chair and make you listen to two hours of Porter Wagoner.....and there are no Waffle Houses....no Popeye's chicken joints and all the women sleep in tee-shirts....and gas sells for $12.31 a gallon....and everthing is made in China. Well, Dex, we are solwly getting closer, damn near everything we buy now is made in China, and gasoline keeps inching higher.
and by the way, welcome back to the great world of the BBS.

Oh, Miz Bumps, there's nothing wrong - per se - with t-shirts as bunk gear ... but sailor's fantasies run in somewhat different direction, if you get my drift.

Except for "Splendor In the Grass," which is considered to be a classic, they all sound like standard-issue B-movies. On the 645 & the 657 we got *lots* of those. In addition we got TV shows on 16mm prints as well. Usually we got reels that contained several episodes of "Mannix" & "High Chapparal" or "Star Trek" & "Mission Impossible."

Apparently we were "ahead of our time." Now those episodes go for premium prices on DVD. My, how times change. :-)

You haven't suffered until you've watched "Zebra in the Kitchen", starring Andy Devine and Brandon de Wilde.

The COB forced me (boot chief) to show it in the goat locker, then all the chiefs went to bed when I started it.
