It is with great sadness that I report that yesterday morning, June 28th, shipmate Doug “Ollie” Oliver departed on Eternal Patrol. Doug served on the Gold crew from 1968-1970.

I just found this notice on an e-mail service I don't check frequently enough. I served with Doug Oliver (Ollie to all of us) and he was one of the best at his job and a lot of fun to be around.

Hi Doc,  sorry to hear of the loss of your brother shipmate.  May fair winds and following seas guide him.  Our sympathies go out to his family and the rest of the Submarine Community at the loss of another "Brother of the Phin".

Hand Salute...Sailor rest your oars.
