At random: United States Submarines destroyed a total of 1,314 Japanese ships during World War II, including one battleship, eight aircraft carriers, fifteen cruisers, forty-two destroyers, and twenty-three submarines. Against this score, fifty-two U.S. Submarines were lost.

Ralph, we did it all wrong. I got passed by a Car Hauler today. Behind the sleeper was a cradle that held his bike. Looked like a hard tail. Ramp to get it on and off folded out from the right. When he parks, out comes the Hog, and he's off and prowling. Would have been nice to have on the shutdown day if you didn't keep two logs. I can just see Doc and Gentry becoming Truck Drivers so they can be super cool with the bike up back.

Yeah Walt, I've seen a few others doing the samething. With the new length laws and the extended wheel base tractors allow a lot options. Seen ATVs attached to a rack underneath trailers where some carry pallets.

I hope not.  HD's are for riding not towing,  Signed proud owner of one BSA and three rice burners.

You got that right; no truck, no trailer and no need for either.

That's why he married the nurse. He knows he's prone to falling down, especially on ice. Without the Scottie to blame, I wonder who or what he'll hold accountable for that first case of road rash?

I had "road rash" once back in the '60's when I was young and foolish riding a Triumph. Now I'm just foolish so I work hard to stay upright and not engage in sliding the leather along the highway.

LEATHER?????? You mean to tell us you wear "Leathers"? Here I thought you were going to be an authentic HD Rider. What is this world coming too? I'd expect ole "Wishbone" Clear to wear leathers but not our world famous in-house "richard smith".

Ralph:
You've been in the south way too long and have forgotten that up here in "south yooperland" it gets cold. Leather jackets are worn in all but the hottest month; when it actually warms up I switch to denim; (Levis of course; Seafarers are not available)
I don't even want to think about Clear in "leather"

My husband was born in Ishpeming, and lived there until he was around 12 years old. He always told me that there's nine months of winter there, and three months of poor skiing.

There are only two seasons in the U.P.; "snowflys" and "black fly's"

Ralph:
I don't live in the U.P.; I'm a "troll" (below the bridge)
But I do go up there for vacations and sometimes work related travel. It's a beautiful place to visit and the people are a delight; it's like a completely different state than the lower peninsula of Michigan. If you speak "Finnish" you're welcomed back like a long lost cousin or uncle.
I think Ric has some relatives who still live up there

Been to the UP many times. My brother was based out of KI for a number of years back in the 60s & 70s. I've also trucked thru there. It is a very pretty place until just after sundown when it looks like smoke coming out of the tree tops. Thems blackflys and they will be on your bod knawing and causing you to swell like you got bee stung. Those little bastards get in you nose, eyes, ears and they will drive you crazy when they start to crawl thru your beard. Damn!!! I'm beginning to itch just talking about them.
