Linda Johnson; she was as nice as she was pretty. When I reported into FMF School at Camp LeJeune I ran into her at the Base Hospital. She may have even given me some of my overseas innoculations. She married another classmate of mine from HM School and they were both stationed down there. I never saw them again after leaving for RVN.

Reminds me of an old Navy saying from the late Fifties...."You can make WAVES in the bathtub, butcha hafta put WACS on the floor.".....And the General who had a WAC driver. Once during a field excercise, the jeep she was driving him around in, broke down and she lifted the hood and was puttering around trying to get the engine to turn over. The General, in an attempt to assist her, hollered..."You want a scewdriver?" She slammed the hood and answered...."Might as well...can't fix this damn jeep." DEX |
