At random: The United States submarine USS TRITON was fitted with twin reactors and was considered the longest submarine ever built until the advent of the OHIO class. The TRITON was designed for a surface displacement of 5,900 tons. Large submarines of other countries have been the Japanese I-400 (5,220 tons), and the French SURCOUF (2,880 tons).

The USS Sea Robin Association mourns the loss of our WWII Shipmate.

CLEMENT A. DUONOLO served aboard Sea Robin from 1944-45 as TM3/c.  He also served aboard USS Spot from 1945-46.

SAILOR, REST YOUR OAR

DUONOLO, Clement A., 85, of Stoneham, MAdied June 18, 2009. He was born October 16 1923 and served in the US Navysubmarine service as a Torpedoman during WWII. [Sea Robin, Spot] Husbandof the late Mary (Buonarosa); father of A. Richard Duonolo and Jeanne Craigie(Paul) of Stoneham, Nancy Pantano (Richard) of Chelsea and Mary Jane Cormier ofWindham, NH; "Papa" to 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
