At random: USS R-6 was fitted the first prototype US submarine snorkel at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the closing months of the European part of WW II in April / May 1945 and successfully tested it off Fort Lauderdale, Fl. as the war against Japan ended in August 1945. The snorkel was removed from the USS R-6 and she was decommissioned and scrapped in September 1945.

No source but I have two lobby posters. One small hanging on my wall and one large folded away.

No compensation needed (you did plenty for me with the patch donations Don) - will be happy to send it to him - I have tried to send a free copy to all that I know that served on her in 50-52. Send me his sons address to and I will be very happy to send him one for the family to have also..

No Cora I bought mine from Cabbage Boys 19.95 so I could make them for all that served on her 1950-52 and have sent them no charge to them for the,m and their families to enjoy. I don't have any equipment to do vhs to dvd but the price was right.

(jeeeezzz - again)... If you don't want it Don I'll be forced to send it to Ralphy or some other low life so please find a home for it - LOL!

Well Crystal I bought mine in 2007 long before I knew of your full chest - I definitely know where to search first but have not needed anything of late - you are my first source of availability -- thanks for doing that for everyone. Since you already sent Don one I will not duplicate ....

Take care and thanks again for the services you provide all of us

I would be Very Very Very Very Quiet about making copies even for free distribution of any movies especially from Paramount the have $150,000 dollar of a company I worked for money. We use an image that look like Bart Simpson on a patch. Additional I am sure your "original" had an FBI warning saying the same thing. First the FBI busts and fines you, then Paramount will sue you. Just a warning

Oh yes Bear, I am VERY aware of Paramount, Sony, Viacom and NBC and have been for a number of years ever since our big fight with NBC over the Silent Service series (which is still onging from my side although mute now with theirs).

I noticed the technical advisor was none other than the silver-tongued man who motivated many to join the silent service ... Adm Thomas Dykstra!
