At random: The USS SKIPJACK was the first submarine designed from the keel up for top underwater performance using nuclear power. An earlier SKIPJACK was the first U.S. submarine to cross the Atlantic ocean under her own power (Newport, Rhode Island to Ponta Delgada, Azores, in 1917).

You'll recall that Tony Curtis' greatest unfulfilled wish was to move from a tender to a sub.

Here's what he's up to, other than painting, saving wild horses in the Las Vegas area.

Tony's Navy Photo. Tony joined the US Navy's Submarine Service and witnessed the signing of the official surrender of the Japanese in Tokyo Bay on August 14, 1945.

He was pretty cute, but I've never seen a rag hat worn like that. Couldn't cover his pretty curls, I guess.

It's hanging of one of the horns he had protruding out of his head. Some horns on submarine sailors are more pronounced than others.

"Some submariners horns are more pronounced that others." Ralph is that nice? Do you ralized how expensive your average "dehorning" is? You ever price out an average horn job.?? My god man....a really horny qualified man can shell $1400 bucks to as much as $2,000 samolians. Kemmosabi (Indian for heapbig friend and keeper of the tribal bulls**t) Thanks for being my friend. Yes Dex, I do know how expensive dehorning can be. After 41 years of true weded bliss I am still paying. Sharon's Dad was an "A#1" BMC Pearl Harbor Surviving Skimmer/Target. During WWII he had his ship torpedoed out from under him up in the Being Sea. They all likened to have froze to death before being rescued. Needless to say, his love of submarine sailors was at the lower end of the ladder. He provided Sharon with very sharp knives and gave her some very detailed instructions if I should ever step out of line.
Here again, being the ever so clever submarine blue jacket that I was, I have managed to cover my tracks very carefully. Know what I mean, Vern?

Poor Dex he never learned that certain barmaids would "toot" your horns off for a 6 pack in the back seat of a 57 Chevy
