At random: There are more airplanes at the bottom of the ocean than there are submarines in the sky; therefore I chose submarines over aviation.

A crusty old biker out on a long summer ride in the country pulls up to a tavern in the middle of nowhere, parks his bike and walks inside.

As he passes through the swinging doors, he sees a sign han ging over the bar:

COLD BEER : $2.00
HAMBURGER : $2.25
CHEESEBURGER : $2.50
CHICKEN SANDWICH : $3.50
HAND JOB : $50.00

Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary payment, the ole' biker walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled farmers.

She glides down behind the bar to the ole biker.

"Yes?" she enquires with a wide, knowing smile, "may I help you?"

The ole biker leans over the bar, "I was wondering young lady," he whispers, "are you the one who gives the hand-jobs?"

She looks into his eyes with that wide smile and purrs, "Why yes, yes, I sure am".

The ole' biker leans closer and into her left ear whispers softly, "Well, wash your hands real good, cause I want a cheeseburger".

Thanks for the good advice, POD. I'll be sure to remember that as I'm going to follow that bunch in my pickup truck. Bob McManus is going to ride along to help me lift any pieces, human or mechanical, and toss them into the back. We're thinking of toting along a small trailer also.
There will be Doc Gardner, our in-house "richard smith", to do any human patch work. Bob and I being ex-en-mm type will try and patch the mechanical. Doc has a Marine buddy or two going along in case we run into any light weight riff-raff along the way. Trying to get Blue to tag along as campfire sing-along counsler but he doesn't get over this way until later in the month.
Come on over to this side and join in. I know Alison would love to get rid of your sorry arse for a few weeks.

Holy crawfish, this is shaping up to be a major cross country migration. We'll need to get the Washington State Patrol out to stop most of it at the border, check visas and be sure ya'll got yer shots and paid for return tickets....

The heck with the State Police, this is a time for the Home Guard. Wasn't there a movie about the last time the Police in Washington tried to handle a Vietnam Vet? Rambo comes to mind.

Just bringing along a few friends who heard you owe me a beer; you're going to need a six pack to take care of our thirst.
I told you guys I was bringing a Marine Escort to bring us into Washington. With all the snipes out there I need some "friendlies"

Since McManus is accompanying us on this trip Ric's action will be duly reported in the NY Post.
I can just see those headlines now;

You mean to tell me that being a fellow "Swine of the Highest Order" I'll have to fend for myself?? I'm lible to hook my truck to that mobile home of yours and take you and it for a spin around Seattle and then deposit it and you in John "Wishbone" Clear's front yard. How 'bout them apples, tight wad?

Actually it starts at the end of April and finishes late July.

When was all of this kicking off and for how long?

Great news for sure, Mate. As Doc Gardner said earlier we want to kick off from his place on the 4th of July, which is a Sunday. Just when we'll finish up,,,a date hasn't been set to my knowledge. You know you are most welcome to ride along and take part. A good time will be had by all!!!!!!!

Blue:
We are leaving my house on July 4, 2010 and I have to be back home by July 24, 2010.
You are welcome to come along for all or any part of the ride. If you can get a U.S. license and insurance I think Harley will rent you a bike. Let me know and I'll do some checking on the requirements for you; or maybe Don knows

Wouldn't it be a hoot to get Blue and POD in on this ride? Talk about mayhem on the highway. Ain't nothing but fear holding them back.

Hey Ralphie .. if you want some dangerous driving practice.. (gosh knows it'll be that if you're going to be the body snatcher for Gardner's Ride to the Sea (with apologies to Sherman's March to the sea), come up DC way and do a few laps of the DC Beltway...

Don said he would be coming back for that, so how does your schedule include him?

And Ralph...are you going to be riding a motorcycle also?

Maybe I'll meet several of the BBSers.

Not this time; I'll be riding through the area but it will be prior to the Rally which starts on August 9th next year.

Cora, I'll be driving my pickup truck, following this bunch and picking up any pieces that might drop off.
