William (Bill) P. Vrabel, passed away suddenly on Aug. 22, 2009. Bill was born in Charleroi, PA., June 10, 1945 and graduated from Donora High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy submarine service from 1963 to 1967 where he was a torpedo technician on the U.S.S. Becuna SS319 that is now a tourist attraction at the Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, PA. He attended a number of reunions for the men who served on the submarine. After moving to North Olmsted, OH., he worked in the carpenter shop at J&L Steel. As a Master Carpenter he opened his own company, Vrabel Construction. He specialized inquality woodworking, installing windows and doors, building homes and doing remodeling work. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Steve Vrabel; and his twin brother, Lee Vrabel. He is survived by his aunt, Mary Paraschak of Donora; a sister, Virginia; and a number of cousins. Funeral service Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. Interment Friday in Donora, PA. Charles A. Massey Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 with his family by his side after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 12, 1928 in Mappsville, VA. He was the last surviving son of Alice and Earl Massey Sr. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Charles was a Navy submariner. He later joined the aerospace industry, working with NASA, Gener al Electric, Lockheed and Harris Corporation. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed his family, gardening and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Hall) Massey; his children, Vickie (Don) DuPont of Satellite Beach, JoEllen Koppold of Rockledge and Chuck Jr. (Joan) Massey of Minot, North Dakota; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his faith ful companion of 15 years, Whiskers. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 South Hickory Street, Melbourne. Graveside services will follow in Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. Charles family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for their wonderful caring and help as well as the com passionate and caring ER staff and chaplain at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
