At random: The USS NAUTILUS SSN 571 steamed 60,000 miles on a lump of Uranium the size of a golf ball. A diesel powered submarine would have required 3,000,000 gallons or 300 railway tank cars of oil.
No offense intended

We're kinda proud and protective of our Shrine of Democracy. Coincidently, when I read your post, I was just leaving to tour a guest through Mt. Rushmore. I don't like postcards and pictures that denigrate Mt. Rushmore. They're tacky.

I read this thread and have no idea what anyone's talking about. I smoked two Columbian Gold's, drank a fifth of Jack Daniels...sniffed five tubes of glue...did whatever it is that one does with crystal meth....and talked with six guys on Fox News and still haven't the foggiest about what subject is under discussion. Mount Rushmore...What's wrong with Mount Rushmore? DEX

...it was a photo of the other side of the mountain showing what could have been carved on that side.

and none taken. Actually, I thought the picture was in good taste and rather funny. It could have been a giant group moon shot, but wasn't

It sorta makes sense if you consider the site name.

Boy are you going to be left off Gentry's Christmas card list. I had one sent to me on the internet showing the back of Mt Rushmore that's definately not PG.

I saw nothing wrong with your post Doc.
It was funny and not in the least offensive.
It's too bad that some thin skinned,PC
folks have nothing better to do than to
find fault in harmless humor and stir the pot.

If you thought that was tacky then get a load of this. Not everyone has your sense of reverence for the monument. Apparently this was sold in the gift shop there.
