At random: Coronation ceremonies of Emperor Alexander II of Russia in 1855 were enlivened by a submarine concert. Wilhelm Bauer, a Bavarian inventor, took three musicians under the waters of Kronstadt Harbor in a submarine he had built, where they played appropriate music during the coronation. The music was distinctly heard on the surface.

Subject: Help With a Quote???

Hello, I'm trying to remember and get the source of a quote I read recently. It was in a fairly recent sub book, something advertised in the USSVI magazine. I read a lot and can't remember which, plus I give the books away when I'm done. My gut feeling is that it was the book written by an enlisted Nuke reactor guy, a day in the life sort of thing.

I am pretty sure what I read was written by an enlisted guy who was talking about someting an officer said. I'm paraphrasing:
'If a boat went to sea only with officers it would not return, if it went to sea with only enlisted it would come back dirty."

I don't care so much about what book I read about it in but would like to know who actually said it, and if it's even true and the actual quote.

Appreciate the help.
