While watching one of the NFL games this afternoon, the commentators mentioned that the Pro Bowl would take place BEFORE the Super Bowl this season. The Pro Bowl on 1/31/2010, and the Super Bowl on 2/7/2010, both at Dolphin's Stadium in Miami, FL. I checked the NFL site to verify this, and that's the straight scoop.
Does this mean that the NFC and AFC champions will not send any players to the Pro Bowl? I couldn't imagine any owner/coach willing to risk an injury to a key player a week before the Big Game!

In all probability, your right. It does give more exposure and earnings to those that didn't make the Super Bowl though. Seems like economics at work. |

The Snipe is correct; it's all about ratings. Pro Bowl after the Super Bowl is a yawner with low ratings. Putting it before the Super Bowl allows the TV folks to hype both and rake in more dough. I skip both; lot interest several years ago.
