Subject: GASTON E. GAUTHIER ETM1/c USS Sea Robin
My father, Gaston Gauthier, passed away last night at the age of 86. He was a very proud member crew and of the the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945 and served 3 war patrols on the Sea Robin where he was a plank owner. My dad was an electricians mate who worked on the radar equipment in the sub. He wished that his remaining war memorabilia be donated to the Silversides museum in Muskegon, Mi. We visited that fine boat last Memorial Day and enjoyed the lost boat ceremony. He was very thrilled that we could all tour the boat with him to see a boat like he had served upon. When they started the Diesel engines of the Silversides, it brought a fine smile to his face. I'm not sure who to notify, but I thought he would want his shipmates to know of his passing. I know he subscribed to the national magazine, but I can't find a copy right now.I know they publish the names of those who have served and have now passed on. Please forward this information to the correct people or let his shipmates know that he has finally rested his oars after a long, hard fight and a very fine life. Greg E. Gauthier
