This photo and caption was in Facebook. One of the commenters indicated this "incident" was in Blind Man's Bluff, can someone refresh my dwindling memory? Maybe towed array in Soviet screw? Sorry about the size, but I can't delete it.

From Navsource: October 1983 in the Atlantic near Cuba. USS Peterson (DD-969), with an escort which includes an unidentified Soviet Intelligence Gathering Ship and a Victor 111 attack submarine with its towed array sonar clearly visible in the foreground. The submarine got a cable wrapped around the screw and propeller shaft rendering them unable to move. The Peterson stayed with them for 3 days until the "fishing trawler" arrived and took them in tow. |

Apparently the Soviet sub got tangled in the destroyer's towed array. |

That photo is not in "Blind Mans Bluff" nor is USS Peterson in index.

Proud Pete did not have towed array. That started with Moosebrugger. |

Is that even a Victor III sub? One of the people commenting had served on the destroyer just before this incident took place, apparently he was not familiar with the Peterson's equipment. |
